Role Description


The Dorothy Day Place (Arkledun) Supportive Housing program provides low-barrier permanent supportive housing to cis women, trans and non-binary individuals who have experienced chronic homelessness in the community.

The program will offer a hospitable and respectful environment for people who face significant personal and structural barriers to accessing and maintaining housing.

Commitment to the provision of cultural safety and Trans/Gender positive space is prioritized.

The Dorothy Day Place (Arkledun) Supportive Housing program will operate within a trauma-informed, feminist, anti-racist/anti-oppressive framework and firmly rooted in harm reduction principles.


Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an administrative or reception based positions preferred as well as a postsecondary diploma in a relevant field of study
  • Knowledge, skills, and experience to support/enhance a service/residential environment that is culturally safe and Trans/Gender positive is essential
  • Experience in a residential setting is an asset
  • A valid Ontario drivers license (G2) and ability to drive company vehicle is an asset
  • Applicants require C.P.R certification (or willingness to be certified) and a Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Must understand and utilize feminist, clientdirected, antioppression, antiracism frameworks and harm reduction principles
  • Good Shepherd encourages individuals from diverse backgrounds to apply.
  • Fluency in a language in addition to English is an asset
