and Canada.The Area Clerk role is based in the Ottawa, ON area and reports directly to the Office Supervisor.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO
We are seeking an
Area Clerk to undertake accounts payable functions as well as support purchasing controls and general administrative activities.
- Receive and reconcile AR delivery tickets.
- Set up client information for new projects in system.
- Expedite payment requests to vendors.
- Match tickets & reconcile invoices.
- Accrual of invoices at month end.
- Reconciling various reports.
- Responsible for speaking with vendors, checking in on payments and the status.
- Submitting employee expenses and expense sheets.
- Manage and escalate payments for critical vendors.
- Fuel and raw materials inventory & reconciling.
- Cost Benefit Analysis.
- Work closely with Supervisors/Management regarding purchase requests, support the purchase order process and submit to vendor when required.
- Review/ facilitate the completion/ submission of vendor qualification paperwork and submit to safety department for final review if any data is missing or questionable.
- Review purchasing trends for existing vendor agreements and make recommendations for improvements, in addition to being a person of contact for various small to midsized vendors.
- Facilitating required paperwork for corporate donations (filling in and completing the appropriate paperwork) upon instruction from Supervisor/Management.
- Data entry, month end procedures.
- Assist with hourly recruitment process (Brass Ring)
- Reception relief.
- Other duties as required.
HERE'S WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 13 years of experience in accounts payable and/or bookkeeping;
- Some customer relations experience is preferred;
- Computer savvy
- OnBase(MAP), Excel, some SAP, JDE is an asset;
- Effective interpersonal skills;
- A team player with a positive attitude;
- Attention to detail always looking for ways to improve processes.
Work Environment
- Role operates primarily in an office setting; however, we are a a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions. Occasional trips to the plants may be necessary.
