Position Overview:


  • The Multisite Safety Coordinator is a key resource and drives the safety, fire, environmental, industrial hygiene, construction, training, and security elements. Works with and supports plant management in two (2) C1 plants developing, implementing, and monitoring the plant's overall safety system and initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Respect Amcor Packaging Canada's primary focus that is to ensure the
    "Safety" of the coworkers.
  • Perform internal (coworkers) and external (contractors, visitors, etc.) training, including New Hire Safety Orientation. Ensures proper documentation and record retention for all safety training to maintain compliance (Forklift, WHMIS, First Aid, etc).
  • Performs periodic safetyrelated audits/inspections, prepares action plans, and ensures that appropriate personnel accountable for corrections, are completed.
  • Participate in the incident investigation process from beginning to resolution with appropriate management team.
  • Provide administrative support and reporting capability, including preparing monthly training reports of coworker participation
  • Member of the JHSC responsible for preparing the Agenda, Minute Taking with follow up on action items.
  • Performs risk assessments and job safety analysis as needed.
  • Presents safetyrelated information at shift meetings.
  • Collaborates with appropriate department personnel to resolve identified hazards
  • Maintains and updates pertinent information in Safety Data Sheet books located within the plant.
  • Acts as the liaison during external safety, fire and environmental audits, including Ministry of Labour inspections.
  • Assist in closing of EHS audit gap findings.
  • Performs other safety and CI related duties/assignments as deemed necessary or requested by the Plant Manager or Corporate Safety Leader.
  • May be required to relieve the Multisite EHS Manager in their absence.
  • May be required to travel
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Degree in Health and Safety or equivalent preferred
years' experience

  • Certified Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) preferred
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must be able to effectively train personnel, present information and respond in group environment,
  • Possess professional written / verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a good understanding of technical procedures and government regulations.
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to lead team toward successful completion of projects
  • Must possess and demonstrate all the necessary skills required for the position.
  • Flexible working hours as necessary to meet position requirements.
