Second Cook
Inspire and create the grandest experience for our guest, clients and colleagues every day. Create cutting edge and high dishes for our food and beverage outlets and banquets. Create for yourself a career and develop within a world class hotel operation.
- Prepare daily production of fresh scones, cakes, cookies, muffins, tarts, squares/bars, according to the standard recipes.
- Ensuring quality, and freshness, to all food items being prepped.
- Maintaining food standards through use of standardized food recipes and safe food handling practices.
- Maintains food cost through the minimization of food waste.
- Assists the Pastry Chef in menu creations.
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive service
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment and ensures that all Health & Safety standards are met.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year Baking & Pastry Arts experience
- Certificate or Diploma from a recognized Culinary School an asset
- Able to work in a fastpaced, highvolume kitchen
- Food Safe certification an asset
- Attention to detail, accuracy and consistency with recipes and plating
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts.
- Energetic, selfmotivated, outgoing, teamplayer, attention to detail
- Able to maintain high service levels under pressure
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time (for up to 8 hours).
- Must adhere to Fairmont Hotels & Resorts grooming policy.
