    About the position:

As the Regional Health and Safety Manager, you will play a critical role in implementing Univar's strategic initiatives to achieve world‑class standards in protecting the health and safety of our employees. This position provides leadership and guidance to regional operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and fostering a strong safety culture. You will act as a liaison between national health and safety programs and regional operations, lead audits, support emergency response planning, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.

    Site Locations:

    What You'll Do:

    • Ensure compliance with government regulations and company standards across regional branches.
    • Serve as a resource for leadership, Joint Health & Safety Committees, and employees to promote safety culture.
    • Guide and participate in EHS risk assessments and certifications (ISO Standards, Responsible Distribution Canada).
    • Lead emergency response planning and act as regional technical advisor for ERAP.
    • Conduct and support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
    • Lead EHS audits and assist operations in addressing findings.
    • Maintain knowledge of federal, provincial, and local health and safety regulations and emerging requirements.
    • Other duties as required.

    Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

    • 7+ years of health and safety oversight for multiple locations, ideally in chemical or related industries.
    • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or equivalent experience.
    • Thorough familiarity with OSHA and provincial equivalents for chemical facilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage compliance, conduct audits, and develop training programs.
    • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams.

    What We Offer:

    • Paid training and development programs at every level.
    • Career advancement and mentoring opportunities.
    • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, extended health, life insurance).
    • Employee Resource Networks advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
