What you'll be doing

CIBC's Consumer Insights & Intelligence team is dedicated to enhancing consumer understanding and empathy throughout the organization.

This role will act as an important 'consumer voice' in CIBC, providing leadership and actionable insights that informs strategy and increases our competitive position in the marketplace by making banking easy, personalized and flexible for Canadians.

Through the development and implementation of consumer insights related to CIBC products and lines of business, you'll integrate consumer insights across the enterprise and elevate strategic thinking to inform key business priorities.

You will lead a team of seasoned research professionals who are focused on translating business questions into research approaches and tangible research results.


  • At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid environment arrangement where you'll spend 13 days per week onsite, while other days will be remote._
How you'll succeed

  • Translate data into actionable insights
  • Uncover business opportunities by leveraging primary, secondary and syndicated consumer data.


  • Champion Consumer Insights

  • You proactively socialize our capabilities and insights/data to influence objective decision making and ensure we foster a consumercentric culture.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • As a trusted partner, you will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver insights that drives their business objectives.
  • Provide strong people leadership
  • Mentor and support team members so they can excel in their roles, increasing their commitment to the organization.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with external research vendors
  • Leverage supplier strategic capabilities in order to maximize performance and outputs.


  • Drive continuous improvement

  • Proactively explore opportunities to elevate ways of working/ processes, and source new innovative methodologies that add value to the organization.
Who you are

  • You have strong Consumer Insights expertise. You have 10+ years experience in Consumer Insights, including clientside experience. You have a strong background in a variety of methodologies (eg. Conjoint, U&A, Segmentation, Qualitative Focus Groups, etc.).
  • You are a strategic storyteller. You can easily synthesize data and highlight what matters most to the business.
  • You are a creative problem solver. Tackling complex business questions excites and motivates you.
  • You are forward thinking. You can anticipate future consumer and business needs.
  • You are driven by collective success. You genuinely enjoy and promote a collaborative culture.
