POSITION DESCRIPTION


The purpose of this position is to work in collaboration with the Clinical Manager and the Patient Service Unit's to coordinate unit staffing and scheduling by ensuring that appropriate staffing levels are maintained; manage day-to-day staffing needs; submit hours of work for payroll purposes.


  • Play a key role in the schedule production process as outlined in the schedule production guidelines.
  • Process requests/changes to posted schedules.
  • Validate daily staffing quotas and follow up accordingly based on established processes.
  • Be responsible for the replacement of all unpredicted staffing needs and advance booking of identified needs.
  • Coordinate education and/or hospital business needs.
  • Act as a key resource to employees regarding staffing and scheduling processes.
  • Prepare and submit regular statistical reports as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Police Record Check (PRC) (Essential)
  • Community College (Essential)
  • Demonstrated effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (Essential)
  • Ability to work autonomously with mínimal supervision (Essential)
  • Demonstrated computer knowledge and use of MS Office (Essential)
  • Flexibility in work schedule (including weekends, evenings and/or extended hours) (Essential)
  • Ability to take steps to ensure timely completion of tasks by adjusting priorities as required (Essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with internal and external customers (Essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise critical thinking and sound judgment at all times (eg. Ability to work under time pressure and heightened demands) (Essential)
  • Experience with preparation of rotations for complex multidisciplinary patient service units (Essential)
  • Comprehensive knowledge and use of Staff Right (preferred)
  • Knowledge of collective agreements (ONA Central and Local, OPSEU, OFHCW) and related hospital policy and procedures (preferred)
  • Bilingualism (English/French) (preferred)

Le ou la titulaire de ce poste collabore avec les gestionnaires d'opération et avec les unités de services aux patients afin de coordonner la dotation et l'établissement des horaires des unités en veillant à maintenir de bons niveaux de dotation, en administrant les besoins quotidiens en dotation et en remettant les heures de travail à rémunérer.


  • Jouer un rôle crucial au processus de préparation des horaires tel que décrit dans les lignes directrices sur la préparation des horaires.
  • Apporter les changements demandés aux horaires affichés.
  • Valider les contingents quotidiens de dotation et y apporter un suivi conformément aux processus établis.
  • Se charger des remplacements pour combler les besoins imprévus en dotation et prévoir la dotation selon les besoins déterminés à l'avance.
  • Coordonner les besoins en formation et les besoins des activités de l'Hôpital.
  • Assumer le rôle clé de personneressource pour les employés en matière de dotation et d'établissement des horaires.
  • Préparer et remettre régulièrement des rapports statistiques selon les besoins.
