Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. This role is essential in preparing high-quality dishes, supporting kitchen operations, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, strong culinary skills, and experience working in fast-paced restaurant environments. Prior experience in dietary departments or catering is a plus, along with a solid understanding of food safety standards.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to menu specifications and recipes
- Assist with menu planning and daily food prep to ensure timely service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and storage
- Support the cooking process by executing various culinary techniques, including knife skills and food presentation
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with safety and sanitation standards
- Help with plating dishes for service, ensuring visual appeal and quality control
- Collaborate with team members to meet the demands of busy service periods
- Assist in catering events or special functions as needed
- Follow all health department regulations related to food safety and hygiene
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service within a restaurant or culinary setting preferred
- Fine dining experience or work in the food industry is advantageous
- Knowledge of dietary aide practices and menu planning beneficial
- Skills in food handling, meal preparation, and kitchen operations required
- Experience with catering or serving is a plus
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques necessary
- Understanding of food safety protocols and sanitation standards essential
