The CNC & Machine Specialist is key member of the machine shop team and is responsible for producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine and/or conventional milling machines and other standard machine shop tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret work orders and part drawings.
- Program CNC equipment using Inventor or Mastercam software.
- Set up machines for production.
- Machine parts to exact specifications.
- Check parts produced to ensure they meet all requirements.
- Maintain safety standards.
- Maintain and clean equipment and work areas.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems.
- Maintain technical skills.
- Report regularly to supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years' experience as a programmer/machinist in a manufacturing environment, CNC mill and CNC lathe.
- Live tooling advantageous.
- Experience with Mastercam or Autodesk Inventor, and Vertical CNCs and manual mills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Able to work independently and as a team member.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong commitment to customer service and team building.
- Confident, selfstarter.
