Job Summary:

Responsible for providing quality workmanship, consistent service, and technical knowledge to our customers.

This includes but is not limited to performing preventive maintenance, emergency and warranty repairs, installation supervision, commissioning of new equipment, system audits, process troubleshooting, technical support, as well as working independently to provide service with strong focus on minimizing customer down time and managing travel costs and operating expenses associated with field service visits.

The Field Service Technician possesses the ability to sell and promote upgrades, parts and services to customers via phone and face-to-face visits to grow the aftermarket business.


Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Provide troubleshooting, technical and maintenance support for both internal and external customers.
  • Service and repair equipment in the shop and onsite for the customer.
  • Perform routine maintenance procedures, emergency service as well as warranty work.
  • Participate in auditing and monitoring activities of equipment on customers 'sites.
  • Coordinate and/or perform Installation and Commissioning of new equipment sold to customers.
  • Maintain records of repairs and maintenance of equipment as per maintenance schedules, corporate governance, legal requirements, and customer requirements.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to other departments in the development of new products and the improvement of existing products.
  • Initiate recommendations for improved tools, procedures, and devices for service operations.
  • Build parts lists for Customers, internal and external.
  • Train customers and employees on the equipment for bestoperating practices and general maintenance.
  • Participate in all required Health & Safety Training.
  • Comply with the Health & Safety program and practices.
  • Performance of daily duties in a manner conducive to a safe workplace.
  • Always maintain a professional company image.
  • Meet requirements of Field Level Hazard and Job Hazard assessments
  • Performing other duties as directed.

Requirements:


  • Working Conditions
  • Position will be in a multitude of varying environments.
  • Requiring use of proper PPE and industrial safety practices
  • Travel to/from office and job sites.
  • Physical:
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs at times.
- move about facility and climb stairs,
- sit/stand for long durations of time.

  • Will be handson with tools and/or equipment to repair equipment as needed.


  • Mental

  • Language: The use of the English language, both Oral and Written.
  • Requires daily communication with multiple departments to insure maximum efficiency.

Education & Skills:


  • Mechanical technologist / technician with extensive relevant experience.
  • Experienced with testing equipment and procedures for rotating equipment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally, work overtime/weekends, respond to weekend and offhours service requests, and support extended national (and possibly international) assignments from time to time as required.
  • Excellent team player with exceptional communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with team members.
  • Experience with a Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) system.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong English communication skills both oral (via phone) and written.
  • French would be an asset.
  • Team oriented and positive attitude.

Experience:


  • Minimum of 45 years' technical service experience.
  • Knowledge of the industry (an asset).

Working Conditions:


  • Company office hours: 8:30 to 4:30pm
  • Hours may vary depending on service needs.
