A large and complex organization, eHealth is comprised of 30+ clinical and nonclinical program (service) areas that all work together to support health care providers and teams across the province in delivering the best possible care to patients, providers, citizens, and health system users.

Programs range from primary care to acute care, and includes laboratories, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics.


Additional programs that also support patient care and information, include Virtual Care, the MySaskHealthRecord, and the Provincial Electronic Health Record.

eHealth is also responsible for the administration of various pieces of legislation to manage the registration of/changes to all vital event records (e.g. birth, marriage, death, etc.), registration of legal name changes, registration of adoptions, and for maintaining the provincial health registry for health services eligibility and distribution of health services cards.


The eHealth teams engage directly with health system partners and other stakeholders both provincially and federally to ensure all services are delivered efficiently and effectively.


About the Role:


We are seeking a skilled and experienced Intermediate Network Analyst to join the team to assist in the support of IT services that eHealth provides to the Health sector partners across Saskatchewan.

This individual will possess excellent customer service skills along with strong technical and leadership abilities, is detailed oriented who takes pride in their work and enjoys the challenges that go with it.


Reporting to the Manager, Network Operations Rural North you will be responsible for the support of the provincial network that securely links all the Health sector partners, facilities and related agencies.

You will directly support an Enterprise Class Datacenter which provides multiply services to the Health Sector and related Health Organizations.


Typical daily duties will include:


  • Day to day support regarding performance issues or network connectivity issues
  • Support installations and upgrades of LAN/WAN equipment in both the data center and facilities.
  • Involvement in network infrastructure changes including new designs or redesigns of network components
  • Perform IOS upgrades
  • Provide, create and update documentation. (i.e. network diagrams, support documentations)
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members

What are we looking for?

You will have intermediate-level working knowledge and understanding in the following areas:

  • Experience with the following Cisco devices:


  • Switches

  • LAN/Core/Distribution/Datacenter (Catalyst/Nexus) Firewalls
  • ASA/NGFW, IPS Source Fire/Firepower;


  • Routers

  • Branch/Datacenter (ISR/ASR);
  • Substantial knowledge with Routing and Switching fundamentals Technical knowledge in:


  • Routing protocols

  • OSPF,EIGRP, IGRP, BGP;


  • Network Protocols

  • TCP/UDP, FTP, SFTP, TFTP, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS, SIP, DHCP, DNS;


  • Management Protocols

  • SNMP, SSH, Telnet, ICMP, CDP Security Protocols
  • VPN, IPSEC, GETVPN, TLS, SSL;
  • Experience with WAN technologies (MPLS,VPLS, SD-WAN, Internet/DSL, ISDN);
  • Experience supporting VPN technologies such as IPSEC, DMVPN and GETVPN Knowledge of Enterprise Monitoring concepts and network related tools such as packet sniffers;
  • Video over IP and Voice over IP experience with a solid understanding of QoS protocols would be an asset;
  • Experience supporting an enterprise wireless network would be an asset Experience supporting ADC (Application Delivery Controller) Load Balancers such as F5 or Citrix would be an asset;
  • Record of delivering small to medium scale IT technology refreshes or evergreen programs;
  • ITIL service delivery concepts, with a focus on Change, Incident, Problem and Service request management;
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation;
  • Cisco certifications would be considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of Saskatchewan Health IT sector would be an asset.


As a team member with project skills, you will also be responsible for managing and/or participating in projects related to network infrastructure from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

After hours on-call will be a requirement of this position.
