Position Overview:
Controller


Responsibilities:

Oversee aspects of construction accounting, including project costing, revenue recognition, and expense allocation.

Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures tailored to the construction industry's unique requirements.

Collaborate with project managers to analyze budget vs. actual costs and provide financial insights to support decision-making.

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of project contracts, change orders, and billing terms to accurately reflect project financials.

Reconcile accounts, prepare financial statements, and ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes.

Utilize Xero accounting software to its fullest potential, optimizing its features for construction-specific financial management.

Monitor cash flow, manage accounts payable and receivable, and oversee payroll processes.

Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and reporting requirements within the construction sector.

Prepare financial reports for senior management and contribute to strategic financial planning.


Qualifications:
Proven experience (X years) in a Controller or similar financial leadership role within the construction industry.

In-depth knowledge of construction accounting principles, including job costing, WIP (Work in Progress), and revenue recognition.

Proficiency in using Xero accounting software, including advanced features applicable to construction accounting.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

Excellent organizational skills,

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
