    Job Description

    In this role you will:

  • Process all Hourly, Salary and Commissioned payroll accurately and in a timely manner
  • Auditing HR entries and changes for accuracy. Data entry including: hours, adjustments, manual updates and other details relating to associates compensation. Balancing payroll to time sheets. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain the highest level of confidential customer service to all associates and managers
  • Prepare ROE's and other payroll records as required, in a timely manner
  • Complete all other assigned Total Rewards projects and initiatives
  • Respond daily to associates payroll enquiries. Ensures completeness and accuracy of payroll data including employer and employee payroll taxes and other deductions
  • Resolve associates concerns and problems regarding payroll questions by researching policies and procedures, and by providing answers and resolutions to any problems or concerns that arise by responding within a timely manner
  • Ensure the commencement of all taxable benefits is completed accurately and in a timely manner and that all parties involved are advised of dates and/or other information that may be required. (Company Car, Life, gifts, awards).
  • Assists in completion of the year end audit.
  • Respond to external agencies such as: CRA, Service Canada, Family Support, etc. Manual Cheque calculations.
  • Assist with month end payroll accrual. Monthly reconciliation and remittances to third parties. Payroll journal entries preparation and audit.
  • Run Ad hoc reports as required by various managers and HR
  • Qualifications

    The Qualifications and Experience we like to see:

  • Post-secondary education in Payroll / Human Resources /Compensation / Accounting
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in the field of Payroll /Benefits/ Compensation
  • Knowledge of employment standards and working towards PCP or have equivalent payroll experience
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgement in order to analyze a situation and take well-informed, decisive action
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work, sometimes with conflicting priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail, being organized and a positive team player
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Good judgement, strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Both English and French verbal and written communication skills, this is a requirement.
