Type of contract : Project Appointment Duration of contract : 1 year Recruitment open to : Internal and external candidates Application Deadline (Midnight Paris Time) : 31-JANUARY-2026 UNESCO Core Values Commitment to the Organization Integrity Respect for Diversity Professionalism UN Senior Human Resources Assistant + Position Summary Under the overall authority of the Director of the UNESCO Institute for Statistics and the direct supervision of the Human Resources Officer , with a functional reporting line to the Senior Finance and Administrative Officer , The Senior Human Resources Assistant provides comprehensive HR operational support to ensure effective delivery of human resources services across UIS + Responsibilities Provide advice guidance clearance staff sections JDs TORs VNs coherence compliance with UNESCO HR rules policies Prepare post vacancy announcements screen evaluate applications administer written tests assessments Organize participate interview panels draft panel reports manage selection documentation Support offer management reference checks statements emoluments responses candidate inquiries Maintain recruitment files candidate records databases Manage transactions renewals extensions separations promotions within-grade salary increments performance evaluation processes Develop plans timetables reviews renewals terminations timely notice staff Administer employee benefits entitlements accordance with UNESCO rules procedures Maintain personnel records integrity ERP systems Respond enquiries guidance managers staff on policies procedures conditions service duties responsibilities entitlements Handle non-routine complex cases research analysis drafting related correspondence supervisor review signature Coordinate clearances contract closure actions departing personnel Monitor TULIP follow up leave actions coordination Medical Service HM Ensure accurate validation leave provide guidance appropriate use system entitlements Collect analyze maintain data statistics background information Monitor verify post management organizational charts staffing tables Prepare regular ad hoc reports trends analytics support planning decision-making
