    Duties

    The Housing Service Centre Manager (HSC Manager) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a Canadian Forces housing site which includes but is not limited to, people and budget management, technical services, customer service management, and day to day office administration.

    The HSC Manager leads a team that manages a portfolio of residential housing units, and oversees the ongoing maintenance and betterment of this portfolio on behalf of the Canadian Forces Housing Agency.

    The HSC manager is responsible for ensuring the consistent application of policies and standards at the local site, for monitoring and reporting on operational performance, and for leading a team in the provision of cost-effective, timely and quality services for military members and their families.

    The HSC Manager supervises a team of employees working in customer services, technical services and business operations.

    As a Special Operating Agency reporting to the Department of National Defence (DND), CFHA contributes to the quality of life of CAF members and their families through the provision of housing services, and through the responsible and sustainable management of the Departments housing infrastructure. We are a team of federal public servants who work hard to meet the needs of the Canadian Armed Forces families living in DND housing. We have close to employees at our Housing Services Centres across Canada and employees at our Head Office in Ottawa.

    Housing Services Center Petawawa is a dynamic team of 20 full-time employees. We work together to provide housing services to approximately Canadian Forces families at Canadian Forces Base Petawawa.     Intent of the process

    The immediate need is to staff one position in Petawawa (ON) on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB.

    Please note this is not a telework position. You will be required to be on site full time.

    EDUCATION:
    A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note).

    Notes: The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
    A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
    An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

    EXPERIENCE:
    EX1. Experience providing recommendations to management and stakeholders on operational issues pertaining to areas such as: asset management, project delivery, procurement OR client service delivery.

    EX2. Experience performing a broad* range of activities** to support operational programs or services.

    EX3. Experience supporting or leading financial management activities related to Program or Project finances.

    EX4. Experience managing a team or supervising staff.

    *Broad is defined as having performed at least 3 activities
    **Activities include, but are not limited to:
    -Resolving customer complaints
    -Management of allocation of residential housing units in accordance with applicable policies and directives
    -Asset management, including program/project planning and implementation
    -Administration of annual shelter charge adjustments
    -Human and financial resource planning and management (staffing, labour relations, budgets).

    ASSET EXPERIENCE:
    AEX1. Experience planning or delivering services related to property management or customer services within a Real Property context.
    AEX2. Experience planning, coordinating or managing contracts.

    OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Willing and able to travel occasionally.
    There is a requirement to limit vacation between the months of May and September.
