Summary

The Product Development team at Globe Electric provides our customers access to an ever-growing portfolio of thoughtfully created decorative lighting, bulbs, and electrical products.

We are looking for a dynamic Associate Product Manager with a growth mindset to join our team.

We want someone who can work in a fast-paced environment, has the creativity to formulate new ideas, has a passion for the details, is oriented towards innovation, and uses data and structured thinking to inform their approach.

Above all, an ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners is the key to success in this position.

Reporting to the Product Development Director, the ideal Associate Product Development Manager has the ability to conceive, develop, manage and execute product development projects from start to finish.

Combining strategy and leadership, the end goal is bringing to market an amazing product.

Key responsibilities include building out a roadmap for new product introductions in your category, managing the current product mix, coordinating projects across multiple teams, and ultimately supporting our sales teams in their efforts to place the product with customers.

If you possess a hit-the-ground-running attitude, and an ability to ensure timely execution on deliverables, this is a role where you can make a real tangible impact in the company.

Main Tasks

Develop and demonstrate excellent project management skills, successful delivery of projects on time, in line with budget expectations and to strategy;
Tracks and manages development of new products from concept to product finalization
Creates, analyzes and proposes new product ideas based on market knowledge and emerging technologies
Evaluates product mix and fill potential gaps to ensure each category is comprised of a complete and competitive assortment
Manages and maintains current product lines
Provides our sales team with new products and support material for key customer line reviews and promotional opportunities
In conjunction with department team members; performs store checks, compiles and analyzes competitive data on a regular basis
Under the guidance of senior management, develops a better understanding of the assigned categories and the industry as a whole
Communicates with vendors to initiate product sourcing/development, testing, audits, negotiate costs / lead times and ensures that any potential issues are resolved
Prepares product marketing presentations and participate in customer meetings as the product expert
Plays a vital role in branding, packaging and merchandising strategies
Conducts postlaunch assessments of newly implemented initiatives
Performs other tasks related to his/her area of expertise, as needed.

Prerequisites

Bachelor's degree or higher
Minimum 1+ years of experience in mass market consumer products (lighting and/or electrical products is an asset)
Experience in sourcing overseas is an asset
Keen understanding of financial data
Ability to manage projects simultaneously and make decisions in complex situations
Creative, confident and driven
