Carpenter Helper
Hickory Dickory Decks Kitchener is looking for a full-time experienced Junior Carpenter to join our team. You will be reporting directly to the Crew Leader on job sites. We are a growing company with lots of opportunity for advancement. Full-time year round work is available

Salary:
$20-$22/hr, dependent on experience

Responsibilities

Assist in tearing down and building decks, fences, pergolas, pool houses, gazebos etc.
Perform a variety of tasks including manual and physical labour
Provide support to Crew Leader through various hands on construction and site tasks
Safely and efficiently use various hand and power tools
Compliance with company health and safety training and reporting requirements
Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Responsible for own transportation to and from job sites
Responsible for basic personal hand tools (tool belt)
Responsible to provide own CSA approved work boots
Other duties will be assigned as required

Desired Skills and Experience

Previous carpentry experience is preferred
Ability to skillfully use hand and power woodworking tools
Ability to read and interpret drawings for each job
Must understand measuring tools (in imperial units)
Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
Strong attention to detail with precise measuring and cutting skills
Ability to work independently and follow instructions
Must be safety conscious
Excellent team player
Great communication skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Must be enthusiastic and willing to learn
Must be punctual and personable
Must obtain WHMIS, Working at Heights and Occupational Health and Safety Awareness training
