Multiple Positions - Regina & Saskatoon

Work Location:

This role is eligible for hybrid - this means you'll have the flexibility of working from home and in the office (in Regina or Saskatoon), on a scheduled rotation once probation requirements have been met.

Until then, the successful incumbent will be expected to work on-site, full-time.

Key Accountabilities

Safety Management Programs- Develops, implements and maintains the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Program pursuant to all legislative requirements.- Provides direction and support to management for OH&S regulatory compliance.- Builds and fosters collaborative relationships with internal and external partners to promote a positive safety culture.- Participates on corporate committees to provide perspective on health, safety and emergency management issues (e.g. threat assessment and incident management teams).- Coordinates the Occupational Health Committees at all locations to ensure effectiveness in their roles and responsibilities and regulatory compliance.- Arranges for and coordinates contracts with vendors and/or suppliers for equipment or services required for corporate safety programming. Participates in the corporation's business continuity management program by providing support, training, and review of plans.


Policy Development- Researches, develops and updates corporate policies and procedures related to health, safety and emergency management.- Participates in the development, review and measurement of work plans and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory bodies.- Researches and reviews OH&S standards and best practices, keeps abreast of changes to acts and regulations and recommends new and innovative safety initiatives.


Compliance Audits, Investigations and Reporting- Conducts on-site audit inspections of work locations throughout the province to ensure compliance to federal legislation, provincial legislation and corporate standards- Works with OH&S committees to ensure annual follow-up and compliance audits are completed.- Prepares the corporation for the audit process every three years.- Ensures proper tracking of data and documentation of all aspects of the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Program.- Investigates all incidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences and injuries and coordinates corrective actions with internal and external partners.- Manages the inspection and investigation processes for determining root causes and corrective actions required to support prevention practices.- Develops and maintains a job safety analysis process and risk assessments procedures for all corporate work activities.- Compiles, analyzes and prepares data for monthly, quarterly and annual reports and statistics.


Safety Education and Training- Develops and facilitates training and employee orientation sessions, workshops, and information sessions to provide management and employees with the information necessary to prevent occupational incidents and/or injuries and implement corporate safety programs- Ensures managers, employees and contractors are aware of and are in compliance with their responsibilities under all existing legislation and corporate standards.- Develops and implements table-top training exercises that focus on emergency response and safety practices.


Leadership- Actively contributes to and supports a culture of a high performing workforce.- Participates in divisional succession plans, ensuring ongoing professional and career development and supports development in others.- Supports a culture of leadership and accountability to effectively deliver on strategic and corporate strategies.- Is actively committed to leadership development across the company, supporting team and workforce readiness through mentoring, training and developmental opportunities.


Corporate Management- Enables the success of programs and policies that are in alignment with corporate, strategic and divisional strategies.- Manages risk in area of authority.- Ensures that the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Policy is applied in area of responsibility.


Education and Experience- A four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study such as Health or Business.- A Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.- A Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation would be an asset.- A Designation in Business Continuity would be an asset.- Five years experience with increasing responsibility in health, safety and emergency management.- A valid driver's licence.
