The Administrative Assistant coordinates all administrative services for the Manger and Branch staff.

Support includes planning, organizing and carrying out the required office duties to ensure that all matters are handled efficiently and effectively, and that the Manager is organized and well prepared for all occasions.

This includes a wide variety of office administrative, secretarial and financial support services for the business unit and coordination of the day-to-day priorities of the Manager, including providing liaison with ministry executive offices.


Job Requirements:


  • Secondary school graduation plus one (1) year of related experience.
  • Related experience must include all of the following:
  • Experience working in an office setting OR administrative practices (such as information management rules and guidelines, government financial policies and practices and coordination of changing priorities, tight deadlines, volume of work, available resources and multiple reporting relationships).
  • Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:
  • Experience working in a high-volume customer service environment.
  • Experience working in the Natural Resource Field or a workplace that deals with regulatory or legal matters.
  • Recent (within the last 5 years) government experience.
  • Postsecondary training, courses, or diploma in a related field such as natural resources, communications, or administrative support.
  • Experience with records classification using ARCS/ORCS; or, records management using CRMS and/or TRIM/EDRMS Content Manager.

About this Position:

2 full-time positions available.
These positions can be based in any Ministry of Environment & Climate Strategy office.
