About the Position:


This position is a member of the Occupational Health and Safety team and reports to the Director, Health and Safety.

Acting as a change agent in the implementation of a strong occupational health and safety culture, this person is essentially responsible for the implementation, management and support of the plants with respect to corporate programs, ISO and government regulations regarding occupational health and safety.

This person also follows up on several health and safety projects that concern all plants:


Responsabilities:


  • Maintain ISO certification and follow up on fatality prevention standards;
  • Maintain and improve the management system for external contractors;
  • Promote and ensure compliance with safety procedures in the daily operations of the site;
  • Provide support for the risk management and investigation process for plant incidents (investigation system);
  • Maintain uptodate health and safety reference documents (policies, programs, procedures, instructions and others);
  • Act as a resource person during audits, produce reports and ensure followup of actions to be taken;
  • Develop and conduct training/coaching activities and ensure the transfer of health and safety skills;
  • Participate in benchmarking exercises;
  • Develop and maintain a good overview of the progress of projects and the achievement of health and safety objectives in all plants;
  • Participate in the deployment and maintenance of our health and safety management system.

Qualifications:


  • Possess a Diploma in Health and Safety, Industrial Relations, or equivalent;
  • Relevant experience in health and safety in a manufacturing environment;
  • Experience in project management is an asset;
  • Possess indepth knowledge of laws, regulations and organizations related to occupational health and safety;
  • Possess a good ability to focus on achieving results, be a good change agent, be efficient and possess analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Communication skills, effective partnering and coaching of individuals and/or teams.

$85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
