Since 1981, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Toronto has served as a place to call home for families with seriously ill children undergoing treatment.

RMHC Toronto encompasses a House for 81 families in downtown Toronto and seven Family Rooms in hospitals across the Greater Toronto Area and in Sudbury.

The families we serve come from throughout Ontario, across Canada and around the world.


We are looking for a dynamic Development & Events Coordinator to join our team at the House, located at 240 McCaul St., Toronto.


The Role


As the Development and Events Coordinator, you will be a key player in our Development & Marketing team, reporting to the Director of Development.

Specifically, this role is responsible for project coordination of RMHC Toronto signature events (currently our Annual Golf Tournament and Meals from the Heart programming), community events, and amplifying our donor engagement and stewardship.

This is an opportunity to help elevate the brand experience and advance revenue development to expand the mission in service to RMHC Toronto families.


Hybrid in nature, with 2 days/week regularly worked in the office, this role will also attend events on and off-site, with some evening and weekend work on an as-needed basis.


Key Responsibilities Include

  • Planning and support for key donor events and programs including Meals for the Heart and the annual RMHC Toronto Golf Classic
  • Creating and sending communications to ensure an engaging and outstanding donor, participant and partner experience
  • Coordinating logistics, monitoring critical path and deliverables for events
  • Coordinating external relationships with vendors regarding rentals and technology needs
  • Preparing and communicating postevent evaluation report for internal partners
  • Actively recruiting, onboarding, coordinating, stewarding and supporting volunteers to achieve key performance indicators and ensure a nextlevel experience for attendees and donors/sponsors
  • Collaborating with internal teams to create sponsorship materials that align with potential sponsor interests
  • Monitoring budget and financial performance of events, to inform datadriven decisions throughout the planning cycle
  • Being an ambassador for RMHC Toronto; building strong relationships with community event chairs and/or organizers
  • Attending donor engagement events as required
  • Supporting donor stewardship activities including the creation of reports and working cooperatively with the Development and Marketing teams

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Post-Secondary degree ideally focused on Business, Marketing, Administration, Non-Profit Management and/or Fundraising
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience planning and executing profitable fundraising events
  • An equivalent combination of education, skills and experience will be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven ability to successfully work with donors and partners to support revenue development
  • Experience in donor relations and stewardship required
  • Experience planning, organizing and executing fundraising events
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a team to meet collective goals
  • Ability to work independently to effectively solve problems for donors, volunteers and participants
  • Superior communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain longterm relationships with donors, partners and volunteers
  • Skilled ability to balance competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Proficient in using technology tools including MS Office, MS Teams
  • Knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency guidelines and tax receipting
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to travel locally when necessary
  • Experience working with CRM databases
  • Experience securing event sponsorships an asset
  • Experience as a volunteer and/or community event organizer is an asset
