Overview:

Responsibilities:


  • Support Project Managers on projects and assignments
  • Proactively manage projectrelated issues with clients and keep internal team apprised of updates and shifts in timeline on a weekly basis
  • Assist with the development of scope, budget, and schedule for assigned projects
  • Coordinate activities of general contractors with ownermanaged suppliers, consultants and contractors
  • Procure, interact and negotiate with contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, equipment suppliers and authorities having jurisdiction
  • Prepare/update project status reports, process purchase orders and invoices, update tracking reports and maintain files.
  • Ensure accurate management of all accounts receivable
  • Coordinate and track all Vendor RFP's.
  • Maintain accurate and consistent electronic files and documentation in compliance with internal governance and client audit requirements
  • Comply with all Avison Young policies and procedures, including but not limited to ethics and business practice.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • 35 years of relevant work experience, or combination of relevant work experience and education
  • Postsecondary education in Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering, or Project Management
  • Familiarity with architectural drawings and furniture and space planning concepts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project, SharePoint document management
  • Highly organized and driven with strong analytical skills
  • Desire to learn and ability to understand all aspects of construction projects effectively and efficiently including, but not limited to budgeting and scheduling
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to provide excellent service to executivelevel external and internal client stakeholders
  • Organizational skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities
  • Detailoriented with ability to manage to several keypoint metrics consistently and successfully.
  • Advanced proficiency in preparation and tracking of project budgets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to impact and influence to achieve desired project outcomes
  • Flexibility with work hours and travel as needed
  • Ability to proactively identify, mitigate, and track project risks
  • Ability to multitask and work both in a team and independently
  • Valid Driver's License
  • CAPM or PMP accreditation is an asset
