Job Description*POSITION OVERVIEW*The Event Communications Coordinator will assist with campaigns, database management, keep track of deadlines, and work closely with the Discovery Session team to produce a large and varied program of workshops and offsite experiences at our flagship conference, TED2023.

You'll expertly handle communications with workshop leaders, and help to create a seamless - and fabulous - TED experience.

As a member of the Conference Team, you'll collaborate to create successful events that help us grow our audiences and enhance the event experience while contributing to our mission:
_ideas worth spreading_. You're highly efficient, motivated and organized, enjoy troubleshooting, work well under pressure and are comfortable managing shifting priorities. This is a 5 month engagement with the possibility of extension.

RESPONSIBILITIES*- Maintain + manage the workshops idea database with host details

  • Work closely with other departments (Fellows, Partnerships, etc) to produce relevant event assets and collaborate on specific attendee group needs.
  • Represent TED and our mission the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world.
  • Drafting official programrelated communications


  • Organize Host logistics

  • Registration, hotels, flights, etc, budgeting
  • Take part in some curation calls
  • Maintain program documents
  • Collect + review host assets
  • Be aware of and track deadlines
  • Ad hoc support to program lead as needed
Qualifications*QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS*- Degree (preferred) or diploma in communications, marketing or similar experience.

  • 2+ years communications experience (strong writing, editing and formatting skills)
  • Customer support or similar experience, both inperson and online.
  • Prior events experience an asset.
  • Experience working with CRMs / databases to manage customer records.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Techsavvy, fast learner of new tools.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to juggle multiple projects with competing deadlines and reprioritize as needed.
  • Work efficiently in a team and communicate effectively.
  • Quantitative and qualitative analytical and problemsolving skills. Ability to identify customer pain points, troubleshoot, and know when to escalate, both inperson and online.
