DanceBUG Inc.

is assembling a team of SEASONAL Videographers/Camera Operators to travel the country to Shoot and Stream Dance Competitions, Recitals, and Workshops.

This is opportunity will be available from March through June.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Setup field kit onsite which consists of video, audio, and streaming components.
  • Perform a daily "Vido Test Capture", adjusting white balance, exposure, focus, and horizon line as needed.
  • Record and log performances (Primary via laptop, Secondary via cards in camera).
  • Record and monitor audio levels to ensure clean sound (Primary via audio interface + laptop, Secondary/Backup via field recorder).
  • Perform a daily "Audio Test Capture", that includes reviewing and adjusting both Primary and Backup levels until audio is clean.
  • Connect and monitor broadcast stream via OBS, starting, stopping, and adjusting scenes as required.
  • Upload data each event evening.
  • Ship data back to Head Office after each event.
  • Checkin with assigned Coach weekly for feedback.
  • Travel to events throughout the country.

Gig Requirements:


  • Min. of 4 years experience working as a Videographer/Camera Operator.
  • Knowledge of adjusting camera settings. Must be able to set white balance, exposure, and focus.
  • Must be able to listen to audio and adjust levels so sound is not distorted or blown out.
  • Comfortable using Windows based computers. Experience with editing software like DaVinci or Premier is considered an asset.
  • Experience with basic data management/transferring data from computer to secondary drives.
  • Available to shoot Thursday through Sunday.
  • Able to work a 16 hour "Production Day".
  • Hold a VALID Canadian Driver's License.
  • Comfortable driving up to 3 hours.
  • Able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
  • Legally Authorized to work in Canada.
  • Comfortable being exposed to loud music and flashing lights.
  • Comfortable working from a stationary position (seated or standing) for long stretches of time (34 hours).
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders of all levels.

Additional Information:


  • Training is PAID and consists of both "Classroom" style and In-Field training. This will take place in Jan/Feb.
- "TRAVEL TIME" is paid.

  • All EXPENSES are COVERED gas, parking, hotels, tolls, food, etc.
  • Each member of the team has their OWN HOTEL ROOM. NO sharing of hotel rooms is required.
  • Events range (typically) from 35 days. The average event is 4 days. Events may be longer.
  • DanceBUG services clients with events from coast to coast.
  • Typical event day is 7:00am8:00am SETUP, 8:00am to 11:00pm SHOOTING, for a 16hour day.
  • Opportunity for INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL to events in places like Australia, England, Costa Rica, Mexico, South Africa for those interested.
  • All equipment needed to do this is provided.
  • Availability is required/mandatory on the busiest weekends of the season. These weekends are;
