    ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

    An office overseeing the financial affairs of the extended members of the shareholders of a family business, providing book-keeping, accounting, and tax services as well as other areas of financial planning, including investment planning and monitoring, tax planning for individuals, business owners, holding companies, trusts, cash flow management and estate planning/administration. A friendly family office environment, the incumbent will be an important member of a three to four-person team. Working alongside a CPA and financial planner, the family office interacts with various outside investment advisors & managers.


    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    Looking for a strong organized and motivated individual to support the investment portfolio record-keeping and reporting, accounting, tax return preparation, tax compliance, cash flow management and overall financial and office administration.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Ideally, the incumbent has experience working in a tax, accounting and/or investment environment, and now looking forward to work in a smaller office offering more flexibility. Opportunities to grow with the position exist.

    The incumbent will be expected to be proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Office, Outlook etc.) and knowledge of processes and applications for investment, accounting, bookkeeping & income tax such as, Write-up, T1 & T3 tax preparation software (DTMAX), Quicken, NDex Systems (data aggregation), online banking and custodial portals, as well as general computer applications and browsers etc.

    Personal skills required are strong organization, resourceful, self-motivator, willingness to learn, a logical thinker, attention to detail and accuracy, ability to work on own as well as excellent team spirit and ability to get along with others. Communicate in both English and French.

    Education qualifications desired would be a degree in Business administration, Finance, Accounting and/or a related field. Any courses supporting these functions would be beneficial, such as bookkeeping courses, tax courses, Canadian Securities Course, Financial planning or CPA.


    Salary: $60,000-$80,000 + benefits
