Please Note: This temporary opportunity plays a key role in supporting programs within the School of Construction and Building Sciences.

Are you passionate about creating exceptional work integrated learning (WIL) experiences for students and supporting industry partners in building Alberta's future talent pipeline? NAIT is transforming its Work Integrated Learning ecosystem and is seeking a proactive, relationship focused Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator to support the coordination and delivery of WIL programs across certificate, diploma, and degree areas.

Reporting to the Manager, Experiential Learning, the ideal candidate is student centered, solutions oriented and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You bring strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to build trust with both students and employers. You are comfortable navigating multiple systems, enjoy improving processes, and view change as an opportunity to innovate and enhance the learner experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Coaching and Placement support (40%)

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all WIL activities within an assigned portfolio, supporting students through each stage of the placement cycle.
  • Provide administrative oversight for the delivery of WIL courses and related requirements.
  • Facilitate meaningful connections between students and employers through events, outreach, and individualized support.
  • Monitor and maintain student–employer relationships, proactively addressing concerns to ensure successful placements.

Employer Engagement (30%)

  • Develop, strengthen, and sustain relationships with industry partners to grow high quality WIL opportunities.
  • Support employers in creating job postings, understanding program expectations, and navigating the WIL process.
  • Assist employers in leveraging applicable funding opportunities such as MITACS and SWPP

Program Administration (30%)

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of consistent, efficient processes across WIL programs.
  • Maintain accurate WIL documentation and data in collaboration with administrative colleagues, ensuring reliable reporting for institutional and funding bodies.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from students and employers to support continuous improvement.
  • Support institution wide WIL policies, procedures, guidelines, and quality standards

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; a diploma with equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3–5 years of experience working with post-secondary students, HR and/or coordinating programs.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred:

  • Experience with WIL or experiential learning programs; business education background is an asset
  • Experience working in a post-secondary environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast paced setting.
  • Comfort in virtual, in person, and hybrid environments.
  • Familiarity with WCB processes and workplace safety considerations related to student placements.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines and deliverables.

Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).

Remuneration: $65, $88,144.94 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification – Coordinator I).

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
