Social Media Marketing Coordinator


This position is an in-office role in our Mount Hope farm location (Hamilton), and is part of a fast-paced creative team that supports multiple business assets for BigYellowBag, Greenhorizons Sod Farms & Willow Valley Golf Course.


Our ideal Social Media Marketing Coordinator is a key point of contact for marketing related customer service and responsible for producing engaging & compelling written and visual content for a variety of Marketing & Communications purposes.

This role requires someone who has experience for handling multiple busy projects at once with good attention to detail.

Job duties include:


  • Create, manage and post regular social media content and messaging for all business brands.
  • Respond to social media comments as required.
  • Stay up to date with social media trends and current best practices.
  • Demonstrate excellent judgment in determining content for posting.
  • Stay on top of and responding to customer reviews through Google, Gather Up and internal review platforms.
  • Work with mínimal supervision as a member of the creative team in a fastpaced Marketing environment.
  • Provide assistance & support as it relates to BigYellowBag's Give & Grow fundraising program. This includes communications with partners, marketing promotions, cheque presentations, and system setup.

Writing/Editing:


  • Writes regularly, and has an attention to detail, grammar and punctuation.
  • Proofreads and edits copy, data, advertisements, etc.

Administrative:


  • Provide assistance to Marketing Manager and team, as needed for jobs such as, but not limited to: Managing an ongoing media contact list, proofreading, data validation, printing & preparing marketing materials as needed for internal and external use.

Qualifications:


  • Degree or diploma in marketing, journalism, communications, business, public relations or related field.
  • 13 years proven work experience in a similar role.
  • Interest in gardening related activities considered an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines while coordinating multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and creatively in a fastpaced environment.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
