Job Summary

Organizational Status

This position works as part of Dr. Todd Woodward's research team. The position reports to and is supervised by the Principal Investigator (Dr. Woodward.)


Work Performed- Prepare neuroimaging data for analysis with the PI's guidance.- Use SPSS and Excel to organize, code and enter data such as personal and background information, psychiatric interviews, cognitive tasks, intelligence measures, and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) tasks.- Assist in lab maintenance at the BCMHSUS site.- Assist with lab procedure manuals preparation.- Assist with data collection for ongoing research studies.- Assist in onboarding and offboarding lab members.- Organize lab meetings.- Manage room bookings.- Coordinate with lab students and volunteers, including Science Co-op and Work/Learn Students.

Consequence of Error/Judgement

Must comply with patient confidentiality and security of information when handling participant information and data. Analysis errors may lead to scientific integrity being compromised.

Supervision Received

General supervision is provided by the Principal Investigator and works with other research staff under Dr. Woodward's supervision.

Supervision Given

None but may provide general training/ explain the work sequences to new lab members.

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduation and a minimum one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a research setting is preferred. Although training will be provided, education, training and/or experience in data management is considered an asset. Ability to handle confidential materials appropriately- Knowledge of scientific terminology and research methodology- Experience with data analysis and organization- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary research team
