Job summary
The Community and Social Services Worker will work in a variety of settings including child welfare,corrections,
education or training,
personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse,gambling behaviour disorders),
socio-economic needs or conditions (housing,nutrition unemployment financial assistance)
volunteer coordination early intervention programming for at-risk youth crime prevention.
In this role the incumbent will prepare reports or case histories administrate office activities appraise clients' needs eligibility specific services conduct social research implement life skills workshops assess client relevant skill strengths development needs conduct follow-up assessments develop co-ordinate deliver specific services within community housekeeping activities food preparation provide suicide crisis intervention resolve conflict situations conduct individual group counselling sessions establish registry special needs support workers liaise other social services agencies healthcare providers involved with clients maintain program statistics purposes evaluation research screen recruit train volunteers support staff assist clients/guests special needs accompany to appointments outings manage events manage knowledge offer mentoring supervise office volunteer staff
