Purpose

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible to ensure that all internal and external requirements have been met before our product reaches our customers.

You will be responsible for creating and enforcing the quality standards, procedures, and policies for the company, while ensuring they meet and align with legislation, Quality Management System (QMS) and customer specifications.


You will also lead the implementation of new ISO standards, procedures, and audit controls to meet business requirements, as well as Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of our operations.


Summary of Major Accountabilities
Manufacturing Quality Assurance and Quality Control

  • Oversee incoming, inprocess and final inspections quality and ensure to set up and maintain proper quality guidelines.
  • Assist Manufacturing Manager(s) with daily operations and quality related issues.
  • Investigates, monitors, and corrects ongoing quality issues.
  • Develops an awareness of acceptable quality levels per customer.
  • Oversee quality control processes for the Production Departments.
  • Provide leadership to Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and make recommendations for ongoing quality improvement(s).
  • Resolve quality issues with customers and suppliers and maintain ongoing positive relationships.
  • Accountable for calibration and preventative maintenance for production equipment.
  • Analyze production data, prepare QA reports, and complete internal and external quality related forms and documentation as necessary.
  • Act as liaison with customer auditors and assume responsibility for ensuring corrective actions with customer specifications.
  • Ensure customer PPAP is completed as required.
  • Work closely with the Manufacturing departments to resolve any quality related productions issues.
Manufacturing Technical & Quality Knowledge

  • Provide training to employees as necessary on testing, assembly, and soldering.
  • Ensure employees are trained to IPC standards.
  • Support new product introduction and continuous improvement by integrating quality control tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) into processes.

Quality Management System:
(process support)

  • Perform gap analysis between applicable and current ISO standards; establish and implement a quality plan to bring the company into ISO compliance.
  • Is a key member of ISO 9001 compliance committee and is responsible for ensuring we are ready for annual ISO external audit.
  • Act as a champion for the quality management system and promote awareness, acceptance, and adaptation among all employees.

Support Team and Organizational Goals:

  • Participate in the daily huddles and other department meetings and participate in interdepartments and staff meetings as required.
  • Maintain competitive knowledge, professional best practices, and trends.
  • Participate in ongoing activities and/or committees as required.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with health and safety work requirements and processes.
  • Ensure the team maintains a safe and organized work environment.
  • Act as a Process Leader for ISO9001 and participate in Internal and External Audit as part of the Quality Management System.
  • Participate and work towards strategic goals and objectives as determined by Senior Leadership Team.
  • Develop and mentor employees to identify the next process experts and future mentors.
  • Any other related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Post-Secondary education in Business, Engineering, or a related field of study
  • Supervisory and/or management Quality Assurance experience in a production environment, preferably electronics manufacturing
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally as required (up to 10% travel).
  • Knowledge of the Quality Management Systems, ISO 9000, ISO 13485 and other operating procedures
  • Knowledge of production and manufacturing processes, including process improvement techniques.
