    Job Title- Principal, Cybersecurity

    Location- Calgary & Edmonton

    The Cybersecurity Principal is a key member of the Cybersecurity leadership team and is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the ATCO's cybersecurity control framework. You will drive beneficial security change into the business through the development and review of architectures and controls to ensure that they fit business requirements for security, mitigate risks, conform to the relevant security standards, and balance information risk against the cost of appropriate countermeasures.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to manage and adhere to a robust cybersecurity control framework while supporting business priorities in a constantly changing environment. The ability to balance conflicting priorities as it relates to budget, organizational impact and geopolitical pressures is key.

    What You Get to Do:

    • Building, mentoring, and leading highly effective and diverse technical teams.
    • Working collaboratively and transparently with peers and partners across various Business Units.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to champion support, implement change and influence outcomes.
    • Be trusted as an expert advisor for security-related questions, lead meetings and support key projects.
    • Document and provide recommendations on required security controls/requirements.
    • Subject matter expert in designing technical solutions to mitigate or eliminate security vulnerabilities and risks.
    • Comfortable with reviewing security controls for network architectures, operational systems, and applications.
    • Verifying stability, interoperability, portability, security, and scalability of system architecture
    • Collaborate with the internal and external security community regarding vulnerabilities and threats, focusing on areas that may directly impact ATCO BUs.

    Qualifications:

    • University Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline
    • Minimum 10 years' experience in cybersecurity, risk management, audits, or regulatory with increasing senior leadership roles.
    • Experience in regulated industry.
    • Strong understanding of security frameworks and certifications, such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)
    • Evaluate security postures and adherence to cybersecurity standards.
    • Participate in and drive security technology projects.
    • Design enterprise-class security frameworks for networks, cloud, and systems
    • Create and align security standards with overall business and technology strategy.
    • Mentor team members
    • Self-lead/takes initiative and builds relationships
    • Be trusted as an expert advisor for security-related questions, lead meetings and projects.
    • Document necessary security controls/requirements that should be in place.
    • Comfortable in designing technical solutions to mitigate or eliminate security vulnerabilities.
