Major Responsibilities:_

Takes ownership of functional groups in manufacturing, including assembly and test. Hands on and direct organization of production work, workflow, work cells and production staff (without intermediary staff) to meet product delivery specifications, quality and order deadlines in concert with other production managers.
Develop staff loading plans to support production plan schedules and forecasts.
Proactively train, cross train and mentor production staff on work and quality procedures.
Learns about the products, their function/operation including assembly and test.
Resolves production problems (with production, engineering and sales) and scheduling issues in a timely, cost effective and customer focussed fashion
Interfaces with engineering for New Product Introduction (NPI), Design for Manufacturing and Test DF(M), DF(T) and engineering support.
Interfaces with sales for delivery timing and coordination of Return Material Authorizations (RMA) and associated Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Education and Experience:_

You have been a production manager or a production supervisor, for a minimum of five years, working on highly technical products within a high mix low volume, electronic/electromechanical, build to order manufacturing environment in an engineering company.
You are an electronics engineer with knowledge, experience, and manufacturing know how of GPS location and communication products, radio receivers and transmitters, acoustic receivers and transmitters, long term archival storage products and embedded ASIC products.

Qualities:_

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite, experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV is an asset and other common business and manufacturing tools.
