  • Full time
  • Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Weekends off.
  • Full Benefits after 90 days including Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage.

Purpose


The Purchasing Manager plays a crucial leadership role in managing the procurement process and ensuring the seamless supply of materials, parts, and equipment required for upfitting commercial vehicles.

Proficiency in NetSuite, fabrication, sheet metal, logistics, and automotive electrical will be vital in optimizing procurement operations. The Purchasing manager is a proactive, detail-oriented, strong communicator with significant experience in procurement.


Duties and Responsibilities

Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish strong relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers specializing in commercial vehicle products, custom sheet metal items, and logistics.

Price Negotiations: Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and discounts with suppliers while maintaining high-quality standards for all purchased materials and parts.

NetSuite Management: Utilize NetSuite to manage the procurement process, track inventory levels, part number management and generate reports for management review.

Cross-Department Collaboration:Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including production, design, and logistics, to optimize the supply chain process and ensure timely availability of materials.

Inventory Control: Implement inventory management practices to maintain appropriate stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and avoid stockouts at all locations.

Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with logistics partners to manage transportation and delivery of purchased materials to the Edmonton, Calgary, and Abbotsford locations.

Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and internal policies during the procurement process.

Cost Analysis and Improvement: Analyze purchasing data, monitor market trends, and identify cost-saving opportunities to support continuous improvement efforts.

Personnel Management

Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant experience in procurement within the automotive or manufacturing industry would also be considered.

  • Proven
    experience as a Purchasing Manager or a similar procurement leadership role, and additional experience in NetSuite, fabrication, sheet metal, logistics, and automotive electrical would be considered strong assets.
  • Strong
    negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management, vendor relations, and inventory control practices.

Analytical mindset and data-driven decision-making abilities to drive cost-saving initiatives.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Salary:
$75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
