    Role & Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with project/discipline leads reporting weekly & monthly planning and progress reports.
  • Production of monthly reports related to the position.
  • Perform a variety of cost engineering functions encompassing estimating, cost control, budget, preparations, forecasting, cost reporting while working under limited supervision.
  • To perform and ensure an effective cost control function for the project's life cycle.
  • Ability to interpret contract, manage financial risk, estimating and forecasting.
  • Maintain current cost control database.
  • Review proposed schedule changes with construction personnel, client, and contractors.
  • Support Project Control Manager on assignments outside of job description where applicable.Qualifications / Requirements:
  • 5-7 years' experience within major project environments, infrastructure experience will be an asset Gas and/or Pipeline Construction experience is desired.
  • Advanced knowledge of Cost and Estimating software generally used on major engineering projects, Timberline, Prism, Primavera, etc.
  • Experience in the evaluation of contractors' baseline schedule and cost-loaded schedule, evaluation of cost impacts for contractor recovery schedules and the tracking of project costs to contract closeout.
  • Motivated self starter
  • Able to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Able to exercise leadership without formal authority and work within a team environment.
  • Effective interpersonal communication and organizational skill.
  • Experience and working knowledge of work break down structures, cash flow forecasting, order processing, variation order processing, foreign exchange calculations and provisions, escalation calculations and provisions and the preparation of graphs.
