The Ascari Group are seeking a
2nd Cook to help run the kitchen at Devils Glen Ski Club for the upcoming 2023/2024 Ski season.
This job entails working closely with the CDC and back of house team for an extremely busy cafeteria that operates three services a day along with some nighttime events throughout the season.
We are looking for the perfect fit that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, building and educating a team of cooks and dishwashers.
Start date will be early winter, exact date to be determined. Devils Glen is open Wednesday - Sunday each week, availability on these days is a must.Responsibilities:
- The Jr. Sous Chef will lead the team for Apres Ski, daytime caterings and night time events
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report, and follow instructions from Kitchen Manager and 1st Cook
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion
- Assist in managing the kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet our high standard
- Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies and ingredients
Requirements:
- Experience in management in a similar highvolume environment at a Ski club or golf club is an asset
- Experience large batch prep work, buffets and banquet style service
- Ability to drive and promote a positive working environment for all staff
- Outstanding communication, leadership and organization skills
- Health and safety training
- Patinate about food, managing and building a team
- Up to five years experience in the industry and 12 years in management is preferred

$23.50 per year

- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
