PACIFICA TREATMENT CENTRE
Pacifica Treatment Centre (Pacifica) is an innovative charitable sector society, founded in 1977, providing gender-inclusive in-residence treatment and in-community recovery-focused services for individuals experiencing challenges associated with problematic substance use (drugs and alcohol), in conjunction with concurrent mental health concerns and trauma.
Pacifica offers:
pre-engagement services; case management/system navigation, orientation; primary treatment (35-bed in-residence); resiliency and trauma; integrative wellness; continuing care; and, alumni services.
Pacifica's interdisciplinary team uses a trauma-informed therapeutic community approach, which allows individuals to "own their path" to self-discovery, self-empowerment, and self-actualization.
We do this through treatment, education and support that strengthens individuals, families, and their communities.OUR PHILOSOPHY
Pacifica respectfully acknowledges that we provide services in the unceded traditional and overlapping territories of the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), xwməθkwəy̓əm
(Musqueam), and Səlí̓lwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations and strive to do so with a collaborative spirit of reconciliation, respect and honour for the land, its peoples and their ancestors.
Pacifica is committed to providing individualized care, through the identification of recovery-focused goals.
Discharge planning begins at the time of admission and continues with appropriate goal-review and modification along the way.
The community member journey may select to continue their recovery journey post treatment, through Resiliency, Continuing Care and Alumni Services, and external referrals to community resources for ongoing services and supports.
Pacifica embraces values that support gender equity; anti-oppression; anti-homophobia/anti-transphobia; the elimination of stigma; sex-positivity; access for people with disabilities; anti-harassment and workplace violence; and, anti-racism.
Pacifica commits to these values because we serve individuals from marginalized and racialized communities who experience systemic barriers to service access.
Pacifica aims to reduce systemic barriers and ensure these values are reflected in our everyday work.Pacifica commits to the meaningful engagement and inclusion of people who have experienced challenges often
associated with problematic substance use.
This commitment ensures that we intentionally seek the leadership of individuals with "lived experience" at all levels of the organization.
Pacifica requires all individuals that identify as being in recovery from substance use have a minimum of 2 years substance-free.
