Job Summary:

Learning Outcomes are at the center of the development and review of Academic Programs in Ontario.

The Quality Enhancement Analyst will be instrumental in developing a learning outcomes framework for UOIT at the university and program level and assessing the use of the framework on the development of pathways programs.

The position will also be responsible for the overall coordination of the cyclical program review process to ensure that UOIT maintains high standards in our academic programs.


Responsibilities/accountabilities:


  • Research bestpractices in the literature and other jurisdictions on learning outcome assessment to create a framework for Ontario Tech University.
  • Work with faculty and staff across Ontario Tech University in developing, promoting and implementing a framework for learning outcome development and assessment, with particular focus on creating a framework that will enhance the overall assessment of current and future pathway development.
  • Provide educational and training activities pertaining to the assessment of student learning outcomes to faculty and staff.
  • Increase the awareness of the standards and expectations of learning outcomes in the development of new programs and as a component of continuous program enhancement.
  • Serve as a resource for faculty, individually and collectively, as they develop program learning outcomes, assessment tools, and evaluation processes leading to program improvements.
  • In conjunction with the Teaching and Learning Centre, provide training to curriculum committees so that members have the knowledge to assess course and program learning outcomes as they are presented for review
  • Research and recommend enhancements to the program review process, with particular emphasis on making improvements to the integration of the review of pathways programs.
  • To provide advice and assistance to the academic community on the requirements of the cyclical program review process.
  • The development of resources to assist faculty and staff in the review of academic programs
  • Act as a liaison between the various units that support the review process to increase collaboration and awareness
  • Provide reports on the outcomes of the review process to identify trends and monitor improvement plans universitywide.

Required Education:


  • Completion of a Master's degree in a specialized or occupational field or;
Completion of an undergraduate degree plus professional certification

  • Verification of Academic credentials may be required

Required Experience:

3-5 years' related experience
