Position Overview:
Under general direction and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St.
Boniface General Hospital, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to a SBGH Program Director and/or Clinical Director (or delegate).
Experience:
- Three (3) years related experience preferably in a hospital or other health care setting.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):
- Grade XII or recognized equivalent.
- Successful completion of a recognized medical secretarial program, or;
- Successful completion of a recognized secretarial or administrative secretarial program, plus successful completion of a recognized medical terminology course.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience, as deemed recognized by the hospital, may be considered in lieu of the above.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Keyboarding speed: 55 wpm.
- Shorthand/Speedwriting skills are preferred.
- Knowledge of University administrative procedures would be an asset.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with accuracy.
- Mathematical aptitude.
- Mature, professional manner.
