Description

The Accounting Technician will assist in the preparation of the monthly and year-end financial statements that are presented to the executives, owners, regulatory bodies and other financing parties.

This includes preparation of working papers, expense analysis reports, entering required journal entries, account reconciliation and follow up. They will also engage in other projects and activities as is necessary to the position and as assigned.

Specific responsibilities include:

Account reconciliation and variance analysis.
Bank reconciliations.
Responsible for the preparation of monthly management reports.
Assistance in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
Assistance in the year end close process; including creation of working papers.
Assistance in the yearly budget process.
Preparation of surveys and government remittances.
Perform journal entries as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Completion of postsecondary Business Administration program with a focus on Accounting or demonstrated experience in Accounting.
Detail oriented with a passion for working with numbers.
Ability to manage in a multitask environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Adaptable and willingness to learn.
Knowledge of Great Plains and the transportation industry considered an asset.
CPA enrolled considered an asset.
