    Description

    Oak Valley Health (Formerly Markham Stouffville Hospital) will be hosting an open house for Registered Nurse, Registered Practical Nurse, and Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) - Markham Site on Wednesday June 12 between 1:00pm – 3:00pm.

    Compensation

    BAND J Range: $ $56.05

    Responsibilities

    Participating departments

    • Care Transitions (Palliative and Complex Continuing Care and Transitional care Unit)
    • Emergency Department
    • Intensive Care Unit (ICU) (Also hiring for the Critical Care Course)
    • Medicine (Admissions Assessment Unit, Medicine Oncology, Medicine cardiology, Rehab/Stroke)
    • Resource Team
    Professional Practice Leaders will also be onsite to showcase different learning opportunities and provide questions on training and orientation. Use this as an opportunity to learn more about the inner workings of the department, different learning and growth opportunities, and the amazing culture Also have the opportunity to have an in-person interview with the hiring team.

    Networking

    Participating Departments will have information booths where you can chat with the Patient Care Manager, Professional Practice Leader, Clinical Lead and RN Staff In addition, you can also connect with our Wellness Leaders, HR staff and tour our facilities.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse, Registered Practical Nurse, or will be registered within the next 3 months. Experience in selected department preferred. Current BCLS certification. RNAO membership is preferred. Excellent physical assessment skills. Proficient computer skills.

    Initiative

    Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards. Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organization-related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.

    Skills

    Demonstrated commitment to a patient/family-centred care environment. Demonstrated excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team as well as independently. Well-developed organization, communication, interpersonal and teaching skills.
