    Description

    We're seeking a Senior Manager to oversee Senior Consultants/Consultants/Analysts, providing valuation and consultant reports. The Senior Manager focuses on new business development and maintaining existing client relationships. The role leads the team in training and mentorship, reviews valuation and consultant/senior consultant reports, and is responsible for the preparation and presentation of valuation litigation and expropriation assignments.

    Responsibilities

    • Create a positive team member experience.
    • Provide regular feedback and support to team members.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and manage employee relations issues with professionalism and sensitivity.
    • Respond to client inquiries.
    • Help build the team around valuation and litigation/expropriation files; oversee the assignment and ensure timely completion.
    • Manage client quotes, contracts, scope and fees for valuation and litigation assignments; oversee the team to complete assignments.
    • Manage client billings and ensure timely receivables collection (less than 90 days).
    • Attend hearings, settlement conferences and negotiations.
    • Demonstrate expertise in valuation techniques for complex assignments and provide client industry expertise.
    • Supervise and mentor team members, including new Managers, and ensure compliance with Firm policies and standards.
    • Provide timely performance feedback, address issues, document and escalate where appropriate.
    • Distribute workload fairly and ensure on-time completion of assigned projects.
    • Participate in business development of new clients, maintain existing clients, and pursue cross-selling opportunities.
    • Participate in professional organizations, seek speaking opportunities, and contribute articles to build eminence.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Education And Experience

    • University Degree, College Diploma, or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Real Estate, Business Management or related field; MBA, MST or JD preferred; at least seven years of property valuation and related experience.
    • Litigation/expropriation experience an asset.
    • Candidates with appropriate valuation designations are preferred.
    • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity.

    Computer Skills


    Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, AI, and Internet navigation and research.

    Certificates And Licenses


    Valid driver's license required. Maintain professional designations such as the Appraisal Institute of Canada P.App, AACI, or equivalent, and active participation in professional organizations on local and national levels.

    Supervisory Responsibilities


    This position directly supervises employees in the Property Tax practice and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Firm's policies and applicable laws.
