The Employer Relations Consultant assists students with securing co-op employment and employers with their co-op student recruitment needs by planning and executing a marketing and outreach plan for a full range of programs within the School of Applied Computer Science & IT programs.
This is an Employer Relations Consultant role for co-op with a particular emphasis on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) offerings.
In a portfolio that typically contains approximately 15 co-op programs and supports an average of 200+ students per work term each semester.
The incumbent supports all aspects of employer recruitment needs and establishes employer linkages to other College-wide programs and services.
The Consultant is largely responsible for outreach and business development in the ACSIT industry cluster, including account management and the generation of new employer business accounts, as well as deepening the employer relations with existing accounts to develop and market new co-op programs in conjunction with established programs.
The incumbent is responsible for procuring sufficient job positions from a range of employers and ensuring job postings are relevant to skill level and the student's capabilities for their work term level.
The Employer Relations Consultant will collaborate with the Talent Hub team in the development of employer-student engagement activities events to include on-campus employer recruitment and plans visits/employer engagement for Guided Career Management as a Co-op alternative.
The Employer Relations Consultant also conducts labour market and employer research to identify new business contacts, professional associations, trends, challenges, and opportunities associated with the development of jobs for co-op education and graduate employment.
