Become a vital link in our delivery support team at Rona Use your forklift driving and order management skills to keep delivery operations running smoothly. You'll benefit from a dynamic environment, stimulating challenges and ongoing training in a safe, organized setting.

Your role:

1. Delivery and Material Handling

• Accompany the driver during the delivery of materials.
• Verify the accuracy of orders and the arrangement of packages before delivery, and ensure that materials are positioned to be delivered to the location designated by the customer.
• Transport materials and place them at the location requested by the customer.
• When required, perform deliveries at height while wearing a safety harness.
• Assist the driver, when necessary, in securing the load safely.
• Contribute to meeting delivery deadlines.
• Provide customer service during deliveries through promptness, quality, and efficiency.

2. Order Preparation and Yard Operations

• Assist in preparing orders in the lumber yard using a forklift or manually, ensuring proper selection of merchandise.
• Participate in daily yard operations, including unloading delivery trucks, sorting lumber, organizing inventory, cleaning, labeling prices, and maintaining pallets and stock.
• Participate in stock rotation, site maintenance, and quality control within the department.
• Keep the yard clean and safe by collecting packaging materials, securing lumber piles, and cleaning debris.

3. Equipment Maintenance and Inspection

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on the vehicle and inform the supervisor of any required repairs.
• Complete the forklift inspection sheet daily.

4. Safety and Compliance

• Use the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures on the job site.
• Work in accordance with store policies and procedures regarding health, safety, and loss prevention.
• Follow safe work practices as well as health and safety policies and procedures.

5. General Responsibilities

• Perform any other related duties necessary to ensure the proper functioning of the store.

Required Qualifications

• Possess strong physical abilities and the capacity to perform manual work, including lifting loads up to 75 lbs.
• Be customer‑oriented with solid customer service skills.
• Demonstrate consistency and reliability in work execution.
• Work efficiently with good speed of execution.
• Show strong teamwork skills and a spirit of cooperation.
• Demonstrate versatility and initiative.
• Be adaptable and able to adjust to different types of job sites and various weather conditions.
• Be able to work in an environment with dust and noise.
• Experience in shipping, receiving, and loading (asset).
• Forklift driving experience (asset).
• ASP Construction Card or equivalent Construction Site Health and Safety Training (asset).
