What you'll do

Your Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning

  • Formulate and deploy longterm strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and costeffective software systems.
  • Manage information systems strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, budget, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
  • Ensure that integration planning and practices are aligned with strategic business goals and the company's overall strategic vision.
  • Orchestrate integration projects and corresponding strategies between business units, data stewards, third party technical team and vendors.
  • Collaborate with project sponsors to determine project scope and vision.
  • Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.
  • Develop standards and processes to support and facilitate integration projects and initiatives.
Acquisition & Deployment

  • Research and make recommendations on software products and services.
  • Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
  • Participate in the QA of new software to ensure features and functions have been enabled and optimized.
  • Coordinate feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
  • Negotiate contracts with software and service providers.
  • Liaise with company's software suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.
Operational Management

  • Manage and provide direction for the third party technical team in support of business operations.
  • Liaise with third party technical team to assist with quality assurance, program logic, and data processing.
  • Work diligently to enhance or improve business processes via integration or, as necessary, minimize the impact of integration on those processes.
  • Ensure the collection and coherent interpretation of the various business processes affected by integration efforts.
  • Compile and maintain inventory of company software and systems assets and their corresponding contracts/agreements.
  • Review data quality, addressing any issues through the creation of new processes or adjustment of the integration architecture.
  • Develop and communicate training, documentation and SOPs for end users, hold workshops as necessary, and other userrelated activities.
Your Experience and Qualifications

  • College diploma or university degree in computer systems design or computer science, and/or 710 years equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions.
  • Direct, handson experience with automated software management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading or participating in large scale projects.
  • Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

Where you'll work


This is a remote position requiring the employee to work from a home office in British Columbia or Alberta with access to stable internet.

Travel will be required to company office locations throughout BC.
