Description

Purchasing Related Duties:


  • Ensure all purchasing activity is executed timely and track the progress of all shipments
  • Maintain ERP system with accurate order quantities and expected arrival dates
  • Collaborate with traffic team to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Create and maintain receiving schedules for multiple facilities to enhance the interdepartmental communication for incoming materials while managing inventory based on facility constraints
  • Create and maintain a central database for all pertinent product and supplier info
  • Organize historical files, creating systematic digital filing system

Planning Related Duties:


  • Monitor inventory levels at all facilities to ensure material is on hand and available for planned production
  • Enter and maintain work orders in ERP system
  • Create and maintain updated materials requisitions by product for all facilities
  • Collaborate with the Customer Service and Sales teams to keep them apprised of any required production schedule changes
  • Review all bills of materials to ensure accuracy

Requirements:


  • Minimum 2 years' experience in one or ideally several administrative areas such as customer service, logistics, purchasing and production planning in a manufacturing environment, related industry preferred: such as manufacturing, distribution or salt
  • Flexible and adaptable to everchanging priorities in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Strong organizational/analytical skills and must be detail oriented with ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and complete multiple tasks
  • Strong record keeping
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to interact with suppliers and coworkers
  • Be able to locate data in a variety of forms such as invoices, shipping receipts and new product information sheets.
  • Ability to work independently, but also work in teams with coworkers to ensure effective planning and execution of purchasing duties
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Microsoft Navision experience an asset, but ERP experience required
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work and the ability to work flexible hours
  • Math skill in all units of measure
  • Regular Attendance is required
