Carmichael Engineering offers a unique and exciting opportunity for post-secondary students in the health and safety field.

This role, based in Vancouver, BC, is a full-time temporary position that provides a rich learning environment for students in a co-op post-secondary program at a university or college.

This position will is temporary, starting immediately until the end of Summer.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • With the guidance of the EHS Manager, develop, review, and revise Safe Work Procedures as required.
  • Implement Safe Work Practices.
  • Complete the Pre-Start Reviews and Job Hazard Assessment as required.
  • Conduct incident/accident investigation.
  • Conducts Worksite Inspections and provides proactive measures.
  • Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used and maintained by team members.
  • Document potential hazards, accidents, and near misses and follow up on reported hazards, accidents, and near misses.
  • Organize monthly JHSC meetings and conduct JHSC worksite inspections as needed.
  • Conduct Vehicle inspections.

Mandatory Qualifications:


  • Must be enrolled in a postsecondary diploma or degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Management from a recognized college or university
  • Ability to communicate in a classroom or board room setting to complete sitespecific orientations, safety talks, and Field-Level Risk Assessments.
  • Must possess a Valid Driver's license and be able to provide a current driver's abstract with less than 6 demerit points.
