Carmichael Engineering offers a unique and exciting opportunity for post-secondary students in the health and safety field.

This role, based in Vancouver, BC, is a full-time temporary position that provides a rich learning environment for students in a co-op post-secondary program at a university or college.

This position will is temporary, starting immediately until the end of Summer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

With the guidance of the EHS Manager, develop, review, and revise Safe Work Procedures as required.
Implement Safe Work Practices.
Complete the Pre-Start Reviews and Job Hazard Assessment as required.
Conduct incident/accident investigation.
Conducts Worksite Inspections and provides proactive measures.
Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used and maintained by team members.
Document potential hazards, accidents, and near misses and follow up on reported hazards, accidents, and near misses.
Organize monthly JHSC meetings and conduct JHSC worksite inspections as needed.
Conduct Vehicle inspections.

Mandatory Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in a postsecondary diploma or degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Management from a recognized college or university
Ability to communicate in a classroom or board room setting to complete sitespecific orientations, safety talks, and Field-Level Risk Assessments.
Must possess a Valid Driver's license and be able to provide a current driver's abstract with less than 6 demerit points.
