Job Purpose
The Contract Administrator is primarily responsible for the management of contract agreements within the organization including the review, negotiation, preparation and execution of documents.
Responsibilities:
- Displays a commitment to Waiward's incidentfree vision, values, and culture;
- Acts as the primary Customer contact through contract negotiation, amendments and renewals;
- Manages the internal workflow related to annual contract updates;
- Prepares legal review, contract briefs and revisions, summarizing contractual requirements, areas of risk and possible mitigation strategies;
- Ensures that estimating and project management departments are aware of the legal requirements, owners specifications and government regulations;
- Assists in developing contracting plans, coordinate and communicate with various project stakeholders, as required;
- Works closely with operational leads to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and corporate risk standards;
- Leads initiatives for policies and procedures to be formally implemented;
- Strategic planning for nonprioritized services;
Qualifications:
- 3+ years related experience with contracts administration and/or management;
- Postsecondary training or education in Contract Law, Business Administration or Supply Chain Management (e.g. SCMP designation), considered an asset;
- Highly skilled with Microsoft Excel;
- Oil and gas or construction industry experience in a similar role;
- Excellent command of the English language, with strong emphasis on written English;
- Very strong analytical, attention to detail and problem solving skills;
- Ability to take initiative and work well within a teambased environment;
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external relationships.
Working Conditions
The incumbent is required to work in an office environment with little to moderate noise.
The job may require the incumbent to walk stairs; be outside in inclement weather (slippery surfaces and cold); carrying objects, driving and being exposed to normal office routines.
Physical Requirements
The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal for extended periods of time; and extensive reading.
