Position Summary:


The iTAC Specialist is responsible for Tier 1 and Tier 2 classroom technologies support and consulting, as well as offering technical leadership, project coordination and assists in creating classroom technology and event solutions for the School of Design.


Key responsibilities:


  • Leads the resolution of all AV and IT incidents and facilitation of service requests at the School of Design. Researches and independently devises effective solutions to variety of hardware/software installation and maintenance challenges as they occur.
  • Assists students and faculty with equipment in School of Design labs that includes the Maker Lab Laser cutter, vinyl cutter, Xerox high quality design printers, Usability lab, Motion capture, demonstrating usage in all labs, training and troubleshooting any problems.
  • Supports and assists students with special needs with their technology requirements and mobile computing projects as required.
  • Escalates issues that require resolution by the vendor, manufacturers or a 3rd party company using the case management system.
  • Educates, trains, and demonstrates the correct usage of GBC standard classroom, meeting room, event and individual product technologies such as Touch Panels, Smart boards, computers, multiplatform mobile devices, AV equipment and related technologies to users to improve employee productivity, specializing in Design specific equipment, including high quality Xerox printers, 3d Printers, Vinyl cutter, Laser cutter, Motion capture equipment and Usability lab.
  • Acts as the lead responsible for the classroom technologies and proactively ensures all equipment is in optimal working condition to ensure flawless course delivery.
  • Coordinates a variety of AV technology projects with responsibility for supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of the project.
  • Maintains and reinforces Equipment Standards, Policies, Best Practices, EOL and Ticketing Systems.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Educational and Experience Requirements:


  • Threeyear diploma, degree or equivalent.
  • Laser Safety Officer Certificate is required.
  • JAMF Apple computer management certificate.
  • 9 months handson experience in classroom/meeting room technology support in an enterprise environment which includes an indepth knowledge of multifaceted AV Systems,Touch Panels, HD Projectors, Crestron controllers, Advance Sound Systems including mixers, Owl camera for classrooms,Xerox High quality Designprinters, Document Cameras, LCD/Plasma Screens, Digital Signage,Audio & Video Conferencing Technology, Computer and Network equipment, Multiplatform (Mac & Windows) and Mobile Operating Systems, Audio/Video Codecs and Formats, Refresh Rates, Aspect Ratios, Resolutions, Image Scaling, Faronics Core Servers, Deep Freeze, Asset Management and Ticket Tracking Systems.
  • Experience with supporting School of Design labs including Peer tutor lab for high quality printing, Maker Lab with 3d Printing and Laser cutting, Vinyl cutter, Motion capture lab with XSens and Vicon systems, and Usability lab Noldus software.
  • Knowledge of School of Design Equipment that is loaned out to students, VR goggles, game consoles, Arduino kits, phones, iPads, laptops, etc.
  • Experience with supporting events including running the AV tech and Music
  • Mixer and sound.
  • Experience in customer service and helping clients resolve technical problems. Experience in project coordination in a team environment.
