The Opportunity


The Government and Public Sector (GPS) Client Executive is an innovative role that is responsible for the development and execution of an integrated growth strategy across the federal and provincial and municiple market segments and accounts.

This includes, working with a diverse, high-performing, market
- facing Business Development (BD) team, and demonstrating market leadership through accounts and pursuits by instilling an exceptional client experience culture.


Your key responsibilities
The GPS Client Executive should be focused on managing and enhancing the following growth agenda:

  • Winning net new clients (strategy and pursuits)
  • Growing our margin in our client base (negotiations support)
  • Expanding our service footprint where permissable and applicable
  • Enhancing our client's experience while mitigating risks (ASQ/CX, Reproposals, Client service reports).
  • Supporting go-to-market activities (i.e. PRC, CX team, Distinctive client service execution).
Expected percentage of time spent per BD activity: Strategy and Pursuits 40%/Management 20%/Client facing 20%, Infrastructure and enablement 20%.


Skills and attributes for success

  • Drive pursuit excellence, support market and account research, and support teams in target identification, relationship and account roadmap building and ultimately pursuit and wins of new strategic clients
  • Work with area and regional leadership to improve margin within existing accounts through proven negotiation practices. Leveraging GPS BD and Strategic Deals Negotiations resources to drive results
  • Promote and support client service first through use of the Distinctive Client Experience model (understand client needs/objectives bring power of the firm to support those, perform ASQ/CX interviews to ensure we are meeting objectives and working to improve the working cadence, and utlimately document that journey in a client service report).
  • Where applicable and needed deliver permissable services that align with role in providing objective and independent perspective.
  • Partner with key functions (CX,CBM,BMC, Sectors etc) and support a culture of teaming, sharing and lifelong learning to respond to ongoing market dynamics.
  • Support win/loss debriefs and ESQs/ASQs on our most strategic accounts and take a market facing role with associated targets

To qualify for the role you must have

  • 10+ years of experience generating revenue through business development, sales and pursuit management.
  • Demonstrated drive, determination and resilience, and track record in being able to overcome barriers to get results through people.
  • Executive presence, interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to quickly establish personal credibility and demonstrated expertise.
  • Understanding of market trends and client triggers that create opportunities for Business development.
  • Strong knowledge of current and emerging sales tools, methodologies and gotomarket (GTM) models including social media.
  • Experience in sales and business development and relationships in the Public Sector sector is critical
