FBW and Secondary Flight Control System - Section Chief, Engineering
At Bombardier Aerospace, our employees work together to evolve mobility worldwide - one good idea at a time.
The FBW & Secondary Flight Control Engineering team, and the business, requires a rigorous and disciplined Section Chief who has product, process, and practical application experience to ensure sustaining program or preparing for the challenges and demands of the future (Ecojet).
Lead a section of the FBW & Secondary Flight Control Team to distribute the work and drive to expected results.
Participate in manpower planning activities, in budget preparation and will be accountable for managing financial resources.
Create / enable a positive and collaboratives team environment and take concrete steps / actions to keep high level of engagement within the team.
Make decisions and recommendations on complex technical issues autonomously and sets priorities on mid to long term range.Occasional trips to the Suppliers facilities and Regulatory Authorities, as well as other Bombardier sites.
You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in, Aerospace Engineering and have a minimum of 10 years' experience in aerospace related field.
An MBA will be an asset.You possess an excellent understanding of all facets of system definition, integration, and certification and have a good knowledge of aircraft systems and interfaces (e.g. electrical, hydraulic, avionics, auto-flight, ).
You have experience in DAL A software development following guidance from ARP4754, DO178, and hardware software interaction for FBW controllers (or similar complex system)
Management experience with direct reports will be an asset.
You have good knowledge of MS Office
You have excellent oral presentation and technical writing skills in English are required (French is an asset).
You demonstrate Bombardier leadership competencies which are: building effective team, providing Direction, driving for success, engendering confidence & trust, and leading change.
You must also show initiative, innovation, a strong sense of responsibility and integrity, adaptability, have good interpersonal communication skills, have a good engineering judgement.
